I'm not saying you can't find great deals from accounts with no reviews—sometimes, the best bargains come from genuine sellers who don't frequent online marketplaces and just want to get rid of their used items. However, always be cautious when dealing with accounts that have no reviews or a lack of activity.
I bought this monitor on carousell yesterday and the model stated was for a 23.8" LED QHD Monitor.
The monitor looked the part when I picked it up, so I didn’t have any doubts about the purchase. The buyer was friendly too, so I didn’t want to nitpick, even though it wasn’t brand new as the seller had originally claimed.
At the end of the day, I had to make another wasted trip just to return the monitor.
I’m just venting because after years of buying and selling on Carousell, I’ve grown used to dealing with genuine sellers and enjoying quick, hassle-free transactions. I never expected things to go so wrong this time. I really regret not checking the model number on the back of the monitor before leaving. Thankfully, I was able to return it and get a refund, but it still doesn’t change the fact that I wasted an entire trip there and back. It was a deep lesson learnt and a light one since i was able to get back my principal amount. Always beware of new sellers. I'm not saying that they are scams per se, but its always good to take the additional precautions. I'll use this scam guide to safeguard myself from future purchases. |
