Identifying Scam listings on Carousell (Latest Update)

More and more fake listings appearing on Carousell. Listing pictures look genuine and products look tempting with prices all seemed to good. Afterall, scammers exists to feed our weakness, Greed. Here's the red flags and how to prevent yourself from being a victim of an Ecommerce Scam. 

1) No Reviews Indicator - Listings that are relatively new and created less than 1 year ago are most likely scam ads. If a listing is less than 1 year old and have few to little listings, its probably a red flag. Confirm it with profiles with Zero reviews. Those are a definite red flag. 


2) Prices too good - Brand new at too good low prices? You know it, your instincts tell you is probably b*hit, but you just had to go on with it, ya? Check out relatively prices, if an ad stands out too significant, you might want to take a step back.


3) The "Only Delivery" Deal method - Never deal something more than $50 over courier. Always meet up or self collect to inspect. Singapore is not a very big country and its always good to meet up. If you are outside of Singapore, Caroupay might be a good way to safeguard yourself.

When you are actually bargain hunting on Carousell, it can sometimes be easy to get lost in the treasures. Always remember to take a step back and watch out the red flags.
